Handmade Wooden Hiking Pole
Our love for wood and the expertise about its extraordinary properties encouraged the Axalko team to continuous research in areas where wood has not been implemented or has fallen into disuse for various reasons.
Makilla was born along with our new technology T-Zuntz. The use of different plant fibers properly oriented and combined to achieve greater strength at each point depending on the efforts supported has enabled the development of a very strong and lightweight trekking pole.
Makilla is a product designed and manufactured in the Basque Country with fine materials, largely renewable.
The trekking pole has been tested in various activities of hiking and mountaineering, as well as alpine expeditions to climb Denali (Alaska, 6,194 m) and Gasherbrum I (Karakorum, 8,068 m), with great performance and resistance results.
The titanium tip, less aggressive in the mountain that tungsten carbide tips, follows the principle of respect for nature of Axalko products. These poles have been designed and built with the most advanced technology with the purpose of enjoying nature.
