A month ago we recieved the visit from Pierre Lallemand.

Co-founder in 1989 of the bureau of architects, Art & Build (with offices in Brussels, Paris, Luxembourg and Toulouse), he was their head of design until 2010. During his time with this group Pierre Lallemand put his name to numerous highly acclaimed buildings, such as the Library of Human Sciences in the Université Libre de Bruxelles, the Museum of Medicine and the new Solvay Brussels School. He was also behind the renovation of Berlaymont, the seat of the European Commission in Brussels.

His creations – maquettes, objets d’art, paintings and drawings – are now held in private and public collections, including the Museum of Modern Art of San Francisco (Architecture and Design department) and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Ixelles.

One of his project is Ecce Cycles the intersection of cycling and artwork.

“Creation is needed by breaking codes that are ours today”.

Made out of wood, Ecce bikes are special, they escape their formalism, like the double triangle structure that characterizes them for more than 150 years.
The shape makes it an enigmatic object, the bike becomes an object of desire. We do not drive a bike anymore, we ride an object that is out of the ordinary, a sculpture.

We found the project very interesting and we hope we’ll have a collaboration in the next future.

We’ll keep you informed!
